You just know that every single rx for a statin drug in the U.S. is a triumph of marketing over good science and clinical practice:
http://www.pdrhealth.com/drug_info/nmdrugprofiles/nutsupdrugs/pan_0195.shtml
This drug (Europe, Japan) and supplement (U.S.) has proven completely safe and effective even in dialysis and hepatitis patients, unlike the statin drugs. Has no debilitating or lasting ill effects in any population.

But no data showing any benefit in reducing MIs, strokes, heart disease. There's the rub.
There're no reliable data on statins, either, for my money.
