It is really odd that certain people seem to believe that they have some

Such is the illusion of self-worship.

Yes, the trap of believing in magic powers due to one's faith is indeed
illusional and implies self-worship.

The fact of the matter is they
have no more power than anyone else but they don't want to hear it.

Such is the trap of self-worship.

Yes, not wanting to hear that one is merely human is a trap and implies
self-worship.

Atheists don't worship anything, you quack.

That is not what I discern. Those who are secure in the truth also
have the strength to resist the temptation of descending into
namecalling.

Telling an atheist they worship themselves IS name calling. You lobbed
the first grenade.

Get a dictionary.

Already have one to use as needed. Not needed here, however.

If you think atheists worship anything then you need a dictionary.
Atheism is about a LACK of worship of any kind.

I see. Then there aren't any atheists under this definition.

Except for possibly Buddhists:

"Nothingness is form."

The preceding line in the Heart Sutra is "Form is nothingness," so
you've only given half of the truth the Sutra teaches. Buddhism's
enlightenment lies both within and beyond formality and structure.
Moreover, your quote says nothing about whether or not Buddhists
worship. Traditional Buddhism has no god to worship as such; it has
appearances of enlightened beings during the endless cycle of
incarnations and changes.

And ISTM many animistic religions such as Shinto do not worship but
perform rituals symbolizing and acknowledging their place in nature;
regard for the phenomena of nature and a desire to live in harmony with
nature is not worship in the usual sense. Reverence for nature is not
worship of nature.

The latter would depend on what is in a person's heart. Only the LORD
can look into someone's heart and judge.
