Re: Angioplasty ?

I am scheduled to have an angioplasty done this Tuesday because I have reduced blood flow to the bottom tip of my heart. I had several ekg's, a regular treadmill and a nuclear treadmill. The doctor thought everything was normal until he got the results form the nuclear scans at which time he scheduled the angioplasty.

The reason I went to the doctor in the first place was because when I walked or strained myself I had the feeling in my chest like if you were to run a windsprint in cold weather. It felt more like something wrong with my lungs. My primary doctor actually said what I described was asthma so she gave me a inhaler which didn't do anything.

My questions if everything goes as planned should I feel a marked difference really soon or will it take time?

I went for my angioplasty the same day as you and they put in a stent. Everything seems to be working okay. They gave me eight Plavix pills that night and now I will be on Plavix and aspirin for about 6 months and aspirin only after that.

Only thing I wonder about is the bandage that they put over the groin incision. There is a regular bandage covered by a 4x4 piece of clear sticky plastic. It doesn't appear that the plastic will ever come off. I'm not worried about it but just wondered how long it will be before it "falls" off or washes away when I'm taking a shower.
