I have a question and would appreciate some answer or help.
My grandpa is scheduled for a angioplasty, his has been healthy in
general, never on any kind of heart related medicine, as he getting
older, he started to feel tired, short of breath, dizzy and thigns like
that, so he went to the doctor and they put him on this runnung
machine, attached all the sensors on him and took measurements, and
they came back with the conclusion that he needs a angioplasty.
My questions are:
You'll get the most accurate answers from the doctor who is treating your grandfather. To reassure you see below:
Your grandfather may have showed fatigue during his 'treadmill test' or he had some chest minor pain or the doctor saw some problems with the electrocardiogram (what the sensors indicated).
1) Usually how do doctors decide you need one or not ? What kind of
diag or check(s) need to perform?
2) Is it aleasy resulted in placing a stent in the artery? PossibleIf they are doing it, it was needed.
that after the angioplasty precedure and figure out no need to do so?
Most likely.
3) Can he fly or eat or exercise or live like nromal afterwards?
The risk is less than the danger in ignoring the problem and thinking it will go away.
4) Any risks associated with this ? The doctor kept saying it is a
small surgery.
Some patients have some minor leg pain or foot pain for several days after angioplasty. Others don't
5) Will he have pain afterwards?
.
I ma very nervous, please educate me here a little.
many thanks
