Question about chest pain

I have a very small blocked artery that was too small for a stent. The
cardiologist said it might burst if a stent was implanted. So I live with
chest pain. Very small amount and only if I exert myself.
I try to walk about 2 1/2 miles, most days. After eating, I experience chest
pain while walking. I stop walking 4 or 5 times when I feel the need to. But
it hurts for only a little while. I'm told that the heart is not getting
enough oxygen when I have chest pain. But why does it go away after walking
for a while? Why doesn't it hurt the whole time I'm walking. Why does it go
away? Thanks.
