It seems to me I heard somewhere that William Wagner wrote in article
<-----williamwag-F7C4A4.15141229072007@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>:
The phrase blood is thicker than water is a social euphemism that I've
heard often. My query is what is a healthy blood SPG ? Mine is a lot
thicker than water. Hence the tie in to Natto. Used for many years in
Japan. (Blood thinner or reducer of SPG) like Wayfarian I guess.
Two thoughts, Bill. First, I don't think the expression is intended to
be literal but to suggest that kin normally come first in human
relationships.
Second, natto is a traditional food in Japan that was part of the diet
for a long time before there were any notions about nutritional or
medical benefits. It's a fermented cousin of tofu.
