Jim the Heart protection study finds no significant effect on
mortality in women with CVD. The other studies I posted found the same
thing. The 4s study which found more deaths in women on treatment you
have yet to address. One of The authors of this study admitted that
that data was not published because they where not publishing negative
data. What might happen with more sicker women for a longer time is
unknown; your belief is that it will confirm the benefit of statins
mine is that at a certain point the negatives will prevail. The .05 is
the mark that has been set. If a treatment lets say vitamin c does
not reach that mark it is not recommended. So the statement is true no
study has shown significant reduction in mortality for women even the
Heart Protection study. Other statins in other studies have performed
less well. Smoke and mirrors can not change the fact that no study has
proven mortality benefits for women on statin therapy
