This seems like an extremely unfortunate situation.
I guess part of the problem here is that there is a lot of variation
in the amount of mercury in the various species of fish, but the
average pregnant woman is probably not going to remember which types
are OK to eat and which aren't.
The simple rule is that small fish are ok. If a fish makes one or two
portions, it's unlikely to contain much mercury per portion. The other rule
is that salt water fish tend to be lower in mercury than fresh-water fish.

I think my comments must not have been clear. I meant it was
unfortunate about the conflicts of interest. I did not mean that I
myself was unclear on whether or not to eat fish or which fish to
eat. However, I appreciate the advice anyway.

Your comments were clear. I didn't equate you to "the average pregnant
woman."
I know that I can't remember which fish are safest, but I can remember a few
simple criteria for choosing.
