I think that's true of anyone who promotes their own work.
But to the point; however they market themselves or not (I pay zero attention, I do my own dietary research), the Eades paid strict attention to good science and provided a bibliography for their oldest book the one I read. I found them extremely accurate and measured in their claims as compared to my Medline and other research.
As new research has come along, they've weighed it and revised, I'm told, but haven't checked it out myself.
