It seems to me I heard somewhere that (optional) wrote in article

Call for information from those more knowledgeable, please..
A few times a year, my wife experiences a "cardiac" event. The first
time, about Nov 2007, she woke me at 4:00 AM sure she was having a
heart attack or stroke. I checked her pulse and it was racing. Within
a few minutes, I had checked her BP/pulse and all was normal. Also, an
emergency rescue team arrived quickly and used an EKG, they said all
was normal.
A few days later, her primary care physician sent her to the main
hospital to have an EKG and a sonogram, I believe with dye. Nothing
abnormal was found.
The doctor diagnosed "Supra ventricular Fibrillation." He said they
were uncomfortable, but if they went away within a few minutes, they
are harmless. He suggested massaging both sides of her neck, about the
carotid arteries. This worked fine the second attack a couple months
later.
She's had a couple more attacks since, and wants to gather other
people's opinions. Causes? Treatments? Future outlook/prognosis?
Your need for reliable information and your wife's best chance for
proper diagnosis and treatment should come from a cardiac specialist,
not from a newsgroup where anyone can offer any wild idea which you
will have no way to verify. Unless the doctor who has seen her is a
cardiologist his opinion is meaningful but not definitive. Please get
her checked thoroughly.
