Does the white from the rings wipe off when you scrape it with a
spoon?
If not the anti-fungal medication (Nystatin) would not help.
If it does wipe off and is cured with Nystatin it is probably
Candidiasis and if that is the case you should get tested for HIV.

What you are describing sounds like Migratory Glositis(geographic
tougue).
(The pattern changes over time.)
There is no cure for this condition and the cause is unknown. However
this condition is harmless and it is not contageous so I would not
worry about it.
You should have the condition properly diagnosed to put your mind at
rest.
Consider getting a second opinion from an oral surgeon.
