Hi All,
I know that it is not recommended to just post in a group in which you
have not first lurked, but I may have a serious problem. Several years
ago while eating a carrot I thought that I must have a small rock in
the carrot, but it turned out to be a small chunk of one of my molars.
It never bothered me much, so I have ignored it. About a week ago, I
started having trouble sleeping. This past weekend I went with a friend
to the beach, and I could not sleep at all. At almost the same time
that I found troubles sleeping, I felt a slight numbness in my mouth on
the side of the broken tooth. I did not connect the two problems. I
thought the dentist that we had as children (in Portland, OR with no
fluoride, and therefore many cavities to fill) was sort of a quack. Is
it possible that this amalgam filling is leaching mercury all of a
sudden, or am I just being paranoid? I have not posted for many years,
and I have no idea what e-mail address might be attached now. My e-mail
address is flytier1@yahoo.com if anyone can help. If you are a
non-dentist with an agenda, please do not contact me. I am freaked out
enough about the possibilities. Since I know nothing of this group,
this may be a place that a real dentist avoids. If so, never mind; I
will just call a dentist tomorrow and perhaps look like an idiot (would
not be the first time :) ).
Mike
