The newsgroup might seem like nothing more than a place where dentistry
is promoted in its commercial sense to the public. It could be that
limited if not for discussion to balance out the difference between a
pure commercial purpose of posts and an educational opportunity for all
involved (lurkers and posters). Patients can learn about dentistry,
historical and current matters, and dentists can learn more about public
concerns related to their profession, current and that gone by.
