Hello all,
interesting to see that the amalgam discussuion is also an never ending
story in the US, too.
Well here in Germany it also exists. The problem I think is that public
health care is only willing to pay for amalgam or cement fillings. So
here it is in fact about money. Lots of money. One calculation said that
admitting amalgam is harmful ( the result is to replace all fillings)
would cost about 13 million Euros.
So there is no chance than to state it's safe.
In my opinion the real problem is that you can't find evidence for
either statement. That's why dentits say: show me that it is harmful;
and the other party says: show that it doesn't harm.
You won't find evidence.
Man is too different. One is getting sick, the other is not.
One is dying because of cancer, the other is not. So is cancer harmful?
We all agree it is.
As I often stated I am doing holistic dentistry, as we call it in
Germany. And to be honest I am earning the biggest part by replacing
amalgam to composite.
I state the following to my patients:
The argumentation about dose is in my opinion somewhat stupid, because
you never really know how much is taken in.
The argument, in urinary measurements it's low dose coming out doesn't
tell you how much is in the body but only how much is released.
Before replacing the filling I do test the toxification by kninesiology.
Ok this is not scientific medicine. (But as I stated you won't come to a
clue by statistics and science.)
I do also detoxification therapy. Mostly with chlorella. But there is
also DMPS and others.
After half a year retesting shows improvement.
I thinks it is up to the patient to decide what materials he is getting.
I tell my patients of every side of the medal. Thats all I can do.
Jochen
