This note is to inform patients, families, nurses, physicians and
dentists about three on-line resource sites for chronic face pain
    sufferers.

    "Trigeminal Neuralgia Association Homepage": http://www.tna-support.org

This site provides authoritative information concerning some of the
most painful conditions known to medical practice. Articles and links
are offered on diagnosis and treatment of facial neuralgia and
neuropathy which result in patterns of stabbing, electric-shock pain or
burning and throbbing pain in the face and head.

    "Facial Neuralgia Resources": http://facial-neuralgia.org

Patient-centered and patient-edited site addressing face pain
diagnosis and treatment options, with patient reports of treatment
effects and side-effects. Extensive resource links.

    "Giving Something Back": http://www.lawhern.org

Face pain patient and physician support, with chronic pain bookmark
lists and medical literature reviews. Introductory articles on facial
neuralgia and neuropathy. Site offers person-to-person patient
assistance by a technically trained information miner with eight years
of experience in searching the medical literature of neuralgia pain.

Although I have a past association with the TNA website, and currently
serve the Association as a network patient contact, I do not speak for
either TNA or FNR. None of my postings or email is subject to their
    review or approval.

I may be able to suggest potential medical issues for investigation,
identify specialists who are likely to be able to help, and then to
assist you to find a doctor nearby and to negotiate a positive
client-doctor relationship. However, please be aware that although I am
familiar with a number of face pain disorders and have written websites
dealing with the subject, I am not a medical doctor and I cannot
diagnose patient disorders. You should verify any medical information
derived from the Internet with an appropriately licensed practitioner.

This note will be posted from time to time in newsgroups that reach and
serve pain patients. Please address follow-up by email to
lawhern@verizon.net, as I am unable to continuously monitor the high
    traffic volume in these groups.
