True... But you need access (with my record in Endo...) and you're going
to crown it anyway... In fact, last week I cut a LL wisdom tooth to
recieve a crown (all gold) and I cut it to recieve a crown with intra
pulpal post (like you would for CEREC.) . The lab guy phoned to say he
wants me to correct certain aspects, and get a better impression, but he
also feels it's a good idea: the tooth was quite intact b/4 Endo; small
MO Am.

I'm going to try the impression technique that Ian Shumann showed us at
the last ODQ meeting in Mtl: You take a triple tray double impression
with putty or heavy body polysiloxane and then you re-seat the
impression with light body material. The pressure generated pushes the
light bodied material sub-G and fills in the detail. Hope it works....

The only problem I have with this technique is the potential extrusion
of the opposite tooth/teeth as you take the offending tooth out of
occlusion. Guess I'd have to have a temp ready to go right away.

Re the Brassler bur: I'll check that out. I still find it illogical that
nobody has thought to make a long shank bur for Endo access with depth
marks on it for ease of measuring progress.

Thanks again to both DrS and WB
Cheers
