Building a database of patients with conditions diagnosed as "TMJ",
"TMD", "TMJD", etc. who consulted attorneys would yeild an interesting
bunch of data, IMHO.
What comes to mind immediately would be this:
1. Medical/dental malpractice (including any/all healthcare providers
accused of negligence)
2. MVA, motor vehicle accident injuries
3. Workers Compensation
4. Criminal violence
5. Insurance disputes (all insurance matters)
6. Personal injury (defective materials such as Vitek Inc.'s Proplast)
Other ideas?????
The information that might come from studying people within this
category (not limited to the brief list above, of course) might teach
the researchers a great deal more than just whether the person consulted
a lawyer about an injury.
As it mentioned, the people who register might be asked later to
participate in other studies. ??? hmmm.
