Thanks very much for your input. I don't know about the x-rays. I assume
that when I start looking for second and third opinions I can ask my
dentist for my x-rays (I'm entitled to do that, right?), so I may be able
to scan them at that time.

I'm 58, male. Some of my teeth are loose enough to move with my tongue,
others with my fingers with varying degrees of pressure, depending on the
tooth. Not decayed. Twenty years ago I had another dentist tell me I'd be
extremely fortunate to have my teeth by the time I was 60, even with the
very best of dental car. My teeth have always been crooked and overlapping.
On top of that, three of my lower front teeth and one upper eye tooth have
been slightly loose since I was in a soccer accident when I was 16, and one
of my upper front teeth was chipped in that collision.

I would LOVE to hear your recommendation as to the correct approach--
anything I can take with me into visits for second opinions would be of
great benefit, so if you feel inclined to "expound", to use your word, I'm
more than willing to listen and would greatly appreciate it. The more I can
learn, the better.

Thanks again...
