root canal pain two years later

I had a root canal (upper, two from back) about two years ago. The
endodontist worked long and hard on it and finally said "he got all
that he could." Of course, I have had it crowned. It has always been a
little sensitive to pressure (kinda like a slightly sore socket on
occasion). Just lately, however, it has started aching and showed some
sensitivity to temperature. What is going on here two years later? What
would normally be done in a case like this? Is it possible to reuse the
same crown?
Thanks--
