Tooth decay on another tooth causing problems with extraction site?

Greetings,
See picture at ;

for desciption below. This is best picture I could get of back of
tooth #2 and socket. Admittedly it doesn't look too bad but I sure
have been feeling bad.
Need opinions about this. Background...Was having some pain in #1,
#2, #3 upper molar area along with swollen glands and also what I
would describe as a boil or pus pocket that came up on outside of
gums between approx #3 and #4. After it drained pus and blood, it
went away and did not come back. Swollen and sometimes sore glands
have been going on for about three months now. Not too much pain
in actual teeth except some cold and tapping sensitivity on #2.
General unwell feeling and fatigue.
Went to doctor first and he sent me to dentist and dentist could not
diagnose which tooth was causing problems with many xrays, tapping,
etc. so he decided on #1 upper wisdom tooth and sent me to have that
pulled by oral surgeon. Since that tooth is gone (turned out it was
okay with just two decay spots that were not into pulp) but now can
see better what was going on and that real problem was maybe with
tooth #2. On top of tooth #2 and between it and #1 there is a
amalgam filling. After wisdom tooth was pulled, you can see in
picture there is huge spot of very black decay surrounding the filling
in the area that was hidden in slot between wisdom tooth and back side
of tooth #2. Back part of filling is projecting up a little bit in
sea of very black decay that goes down almost to gumline. This decay
is right above the healing socket where wisdom tooth was extracted.
Socket is now mostly healed but I have been having big problems this
holiday weekend (always when it happens right?! ) about 12 days post
extraction with very sore injured feeling throat and numb feeling on
side of face and also maybe even some shortness of breath and dry
mouth that wakes me up.
Today is the first day that I have even felt slightly better but still
don't feel all that great.
Questions;
Is it normal to leave nasty decay spot like this above healing socket?
(Decay spot looks MUCH worse in person than in picture and is jet
black and rotten looking with filling island in middle.
Can nasty black spot of decay around filling on #2 cause problems with
socket from wisdom tooth healing properly? Can this decay spot be
causing my very sore feeling throat (on same side). There is no sign
of swelling or infection but I feel very badly with about three nights
lost sleep now from this. Tooth itself doesn't really hurt much but
throat and cheek and everything else feels badly.
Will be sitting on docs doorstep on Tuesday morning but any opinions
and comments would be most helpful and greatly appreciated.
