Newsgroups are old. Not that being old is a bad thing, but its a lot
like comparing ftp with ssh. The majority of dentists dont want to use
newsgroups. Heck, the majority of dentists, dont use online forums
related to dentistry... or at least thats what I have noticed.

Dentalcom isnt the only site that has a usenet gateway to SMD. It just
so happens we actually use ours.

Dentalcom gives SMD'rs one benefit. You can email threads to people who
dont SMD via dentalcom link. We even display your pictures you upload.
Want to show a friend SMD at their house or at a coffee shop? Using
Dentalcom is easier then using newsgroup software. Especially for the
non savvy.

The other benefit to dentalcom users are that its easier for them to
post to SMD.

I hate to tell you guys this, web based forums are growing and growing.
Usenet posting is not.
