An update. The lab told the dentist that I need to come back
for a new impression for a new permanent veneer. The dentist
says she needs to prep the tooth more to ensure that the permanent
veneer doesn't come off again. Not sure if the fact that an impression
was taken with part of the old veneer was a problem with the lab.
In any case, the temporary veneer came off biting into a hamburger
along with all of the old veneer. So I am going back to have a new
impression done on nothing but tooth. Hope it holds.
BTW, the lab did a fantastic job creating veneers that look like
natural teeth without having a unnatural, uniform, chicklet type look.
I've seen some bad veneer jobs where every tooth looks exactly the
same.
