Just thought that I would check in and read your post.
My question is *which* Americans are you
"embarrassed and dismayed at the behavior" of ?
Rhetorical to be sure, but are they truly your fellow Americans ?

Predatory animals always take advantage of the weak.
It is up to the sane and trained to remove the societal cancer.

I do truly understand, and do not suppose to speak for anyone else.
It does stir my dander when the 'talking heads' criticize
with no concept of the logistics involved.
