Western Dental Center?

My wife needs dental care. We are of extremely limited means, so much so
that even doing a $100 extraction is stretching it to the max to pull off.
And that's not even the most desirable option obviously; a root canal would
be.

There is this other organization called El Rio Clinic (I am in Tucson) and
they have reduced rates, they charge a $40 registration fee and would offer
reduced rates for any work (though I don't know how reduced) although I am
not sure if they would take payments. The Western Dental Center charges $65
but that includes an exam etc. Plus, if you need a root canal--they said it
would run 300-550 to do, which definitely sounds low (but then, are they
forgetting that much more for a crown which would need to be done also I'd
think?) regardless they would take 20% down on any work like that.

I am not sure what to do. I do hear of Western Dental being a "dental mill,"
makes it sound like it's inferior or as if getting work done by them would
be as "cheesy" or desperate as getting a television or furniture from one of
those rent-to-own places. An appointment has been made for them tomorrow but
I'm thinking the thing to do is for me to go to El Rio Clinic and found out
what they would charge & what payment plans would exist etc.

Tips?
