Three so far: a) petty cash/cash payments, b) overestimating her (and
the others') hours, and c) tacking $$$ on to her pay, b/cs she thinks
the old geezer is still asleep.
a): don't know yet, but have put in place your suggestion that any
monies in/out of petty cash have to be recorded in ink in the ledger.
It has to balance at days' end.
b): at least three hours last week (I calculated 37.5 hours liberally
last week, and she is billing me for 42.25 hrs for herself and the
assistante. The hygieniste billed me for 32 hrs, which is about right.
Which means: I have to take them ALL to war, as they are ALL in on what
has been happening, whether or not they have been letting the secretary
do their hours. This is why I could well end up alone for awhile:
You've already said that a dentist can run his own show with an
IsoLight and a connected computer in each treatment room, and that's
where I'm heading in smaller scale with my XL routines. I am meeting a
lady who has already approached me for secreterial work, and I'm gonna
talk to them all either tomorrow or Thursday. The other two get the
schedule plus 1/2 hour for set-up and 1/2 hour for take-down, but
that's it.
c): I saw about 1900$ (before the dumb-ass erased the entries and tried
to correct them, but that was _after_ THIS dumb-ass woke up in time
enough to photocopy those pages before and right after that, and send
them off to himself in the form of recommended letters...), and the
accountant phoned on the cell phone today, and said he figures that
there is about 900$ taken the same way last year. This is because I
gave him a set of photocopies as well, and I asked him to corroborate
or refute what I saw ('Cause I STILL cannot believe it, and I almost
wished he would have told me I was wrong, but I'm not...).
He also said that this is the tip of the mess.... they don't usually
start by doing passes like that, but by diverting funds. So, this is
only since she has become audacious enough to do that right under my
nose. (My own fault, of course...).

Nope. The 'wolfe' is on her way out prolly, this coming Wednesday or
Thursday. I'm gonna face her with it and record the conversation. I
haven't decided yet whether I'm gonna do it with her alone or with the
three together. I'm gonna talk to the locksmith tomorrow.

Right. As for the other two, either they keep track of their hours as a
function of the schedule, or we pack it in. I should add that the
dentist from whom I bought this little shop from worked ALONE, no
assistant, and shared the secretary staff with the old batch of Mad
Dogs. He sent his bills out via the MAIL... (!).... I sure don't wanna
go THAT far back into history...
In a later post, W_B said that I wasn't comfortable hiring/firing
staff, and he's right. If it were _me_ alone, I'd prolly drag it on
till after Xmas. But, as it is, I keep thinking back to the summer we
had, and how shitty it was apart from the trip down South, and how my
kids couldn't do what they wanted to, as there was no $$$, and that is
when she hit me the hardest, and the red comes back into the backs of
my eyes and THAT is what I keep reminding myself of as I go through the
day. She hit me hard when I was down, and now she will pay. :-/

No more time to respond to your other posts right now, but I will, and
I will use those ideas for negotiating with the owner/pharmacist....
'Specially the idea that Amatus wrote about how the secretaries will be
horsing around in the common secretariat...
