I'm not certain that the point of the assignment in an English class was
so much about getting career information from the "community group" as
much as it might be about using language skills in a high-tech
communication system as a means of gaining insight about "something" (in
this case, an education/career option).
>From personal experience, I can tell you that I spent a fair amount of
time exploring the idea of communicating in the usenet (public)
environment. If the exercise's purpose is to "communicate", "jessee"
can ask me for some comments from *my* perspective. But I'm thinking
our "college student" has left the stadium. ;-)
