Re: ROOT CANAL/CROWN NOW OR LATER?

I'm 43 y.o. I have a bottom rear molar with an old large amalgam that

wait until I start experience real difficulty with it? I also ask
because my dental insurance will be running out soon and I doubt I'll
be getting new dental insurance any time soon.

Also, if i get the root canal, should I go with a gold crown
(aesthetics don't concern me, strength does) or are the new ceramic
crowns good enough? Recommendation of particular brand of ceramic
crowns?

thanks for any advice

I had a similar problem with two old, large amalgam fillings, in tooth 2 and 15. In my case, like in many (and likely most) cases, it was just deteriorated and simply needed to be replaced. Nothing fancy.

So ask your dentist what you need.
