You would not have a root canal unless there is a problem with the
pulp. Cold sensitivity does not necessarily indicate a problem with the
nerve.
Your concerns should be shared with your dentist--at the time of your
next exam.

Likely the crown prep will be the final insult to the pulp.
It would depend on what the radiograph reveals.

Constricted pulp chamber, pulp stones, etc....
May be wiser in the long run to do endo on an *iffy* pulp
than wait till the pts ins. runs out... then....
