Last June I had two CEREC procedures. After time I realized I had a
problem getting floss to my gum on the upper molar and was retaining
food in this gap. The same dentist immediately repeated the procedure.
The "margin problem" as a second opinion Dentist termed it, was still
present. I was told to return the next day for a third attempt which I
declined as dental fatigue was setting in (I just recovered from 2 oral
surguries-wisdom teeth extractions) and frankly, was losing confidence
in the Dentist and the CEREC procedure. I needed a break.
When I called for the appointment I was shocked at the proposed
turnaround, over three months till they could see me. I sought a second
opinion. The Dentist told me under no uncertain terms that both molars
would need to be re-done. He provided me with an x-ray of the other
decayed tooth and showed me an image that revealed a hole he could
insert a tool into.
My subsequent visit to the original dentist was baffling as they, upon
direct questioning denied any decay presence in the lower molar and
still want to repair only the margin issue (a third time) on the upper
molar.
As I have zero confidence in my Dentist, what are my options here?
Can I obtain a refund and have a new Dentist perform the more
traditional crown? Ironically, I chose the CEREC procedure because it
could be completed in one visit.
P.S. these procedures cost well over $2000.
