advice on gum care after crowns

HI!
I recently had crowns placed on my front teeth. My hygienist advised me
to brush very softly so that my gums do not recede. I normally use a
sonicare toothbrush. Do you think that it is safe to continue to use
the sonicare, or could it damage my gums?
Thanks for your advice
