Hi, on Boxing day I got one of my top-back teeth taken out. Afterwards
it was bleeding like all do, and still bleeding a little the next day.
Now, where the tooth was taken out - there was like a big spot there,
maybe full of blood I dont know. But I've been getting a horrible taste
in my mouth from it. Its been fine, not painfull, only when I touch it,
just bad-breath and worrying about what it was.
Now tonight, its gone down a bit,the spot, but I can feel bone(maybe
tooth dunno). Its not painfull but I can feel something happening, as
though its going to get painful.
Trouble is, its a emergency dentist who done it. I spoke on the phone
the other day about it, explaining the bad taste and the "spot" where
it was taken out, but she said she cant see me unless its hurting.
Is this dry-socket? Should I explain about the bone bit? I checked
today that they were open tomorrow/Monday and they are.
Usually if you have a dry socket, it hurts--a lot.
Leave it alone. If there is any pus draining, call the dentist. In any case, while I've seen dry socket after upper molar extractions, it's relatively rare compared to lower molar extractions.
