It doesn't sound like 'normal' healing after an extraction, but
improvement is a good sign.
It is impossible to diagnose everything over the internet, but
the bone sliver should be removed. The 'round soft balls' could
be a sign of infection or granulomatous tissue. That needs to be
evaluated when the bone sliver is treated (usually a very minor
procedure).

Its now been 16 days since I got it out. I'll try and describe it all
best I can:
Where it was taken out - the hole is mostly covered. When I put my
tounge there, it feels like 2 round soft balls - that mean its
healing? Next to there though, in the gums, there is still a sharp
piece of bone sticking out which is very painful to touch.
I still get the odd bit of pain, when it happens the hole hurts, the
teeth around it, plus my eye, face and ear at the same time.
But when I think about that, I've been getting sudden-pains in the
right side of my face/head for a while before I even got the tooth out.
It never lasts too long but is VERY painful when it starts.
But, at the moment, its definetly alot better than it was last week.
Am taking Ibrufon/Paracetemol several times a day. If I had Dry-Socket
or any other bad illness niether of those would make a difference - is
that true?
