I had a wisdom tooth extracted by an oral surgeon yesterday.
The problem is that today as I was brushing my teeth (quite softly at that spot) I messed up the sewing he did there (sorry if the terminology is wrong.) I called and his secretary told me he isn't there and advised washing my mouth carefully after every meal so nothing gets in that spot.
Could a removed sewing cause complications?
Unless you have a big gaping hole with the previously sutured flaps of tissue really wavin' around there, it's probably no big deal.
I would hope your surgeon returns your call, if only as a courtesy. If not, call again.
