Pardon the brief intrusion, but this may be of interest to readers of
the discussion. Inhttp://shamvswham.blogspot.com/, today's post is
about the link between oral health and pancreatic cancer. Recent
studies from Harvard, a major review of over 51,000 people over 16
years, have shown a 64% increase in the odds of getting pancreatic
cancer by those with peridontal disease. Read the data and analysis,
on "Sham vs. Wham: The Health Insider."

What Exactly is "peridontal disease"? I need some wisdom teeth out
and some bad back molars which keep getting infected. My gums do not
bleed at all and the spacing is fine. Just some bad teeth from when I
was younger that had fillings in them and they need to come out. As I
understand it peridontal disease is a disease of the gums and is
seperate from tooth decay, cavities , and teeth that die and need to
be extracted. Is this correct?
Thanks.
Jd.

JD, these same studies did NOT show any correlation between tooth
decay, bad fillings, etc. Just, as stated, the disease of the gums,
