Is a titanium post/root (don't know name) inserted into the root of the
tooth or is the remaining tooth extracted?
Residual tooth and root is removed. The implant is inserted into bone.
If the remaining part of the tooth is extracted, is the new post/root
replaced immediately?
Sometimes, yes, it is placed immediately. More often, some healing needs to
occur prior to placing the implant. This is due to the health of the bone
when a diseased tooth has been present.
Is top posting frowned upon here?
I prefer top-posting -- so shoot me :-)
