Wearing a retainer after several years of not wearing it

Hi all. It's been a couple of years since I've worn my retainer after
I've gotten my braces off. The main reason why I'm doing so is to
protect my teeth against the teeth grinding problem I've been having.
Is there any harm in wearing it again as I can feel that my teeth do
not fit the retainer as perfectly as it once did.
