Dry-Socket dressing just after tooth extracted

Hi, I went to dentist yesterday expecting to have this top back tooth
extracted. I also needed some fillings on the top and a root canal on
one of my top middle-two teeth.
In the end I just had the tooth extracted then a root canal. Anyway, I
was all numbed up on the top and the dentist started on the root canal
for a bit, then decided she had to take the back tooth out, so she
did. I was sent back in waiting room for a bit after the tooth was
out, with the tube or whatever stuck in the root canal tooth, it was
hard to even bite down on the tissue thing cause of the way the tube
was.
THen when I was called back in she finished the root canal off, and
then put a dry-socket prevention thing in the extracted tooth.
Now all is feeling fine now including the root canal tooth which I'm
very happy with but I just dont know what to do with the dry-socket
stuff in the hole. Do I just keep it in until it falls out on its own?
It's exactly 24-hours since it happened and I just did the saltwater,
and its still there but how can the hole be kept clean if that stuff
is in there?
Sorry if this makes no sense! I have an appointment on Tuesday for
some more fillings, which is great cause if I get Dry Socket(and I had
one earlier this year) at least I'll be able to get it treated.
