OT: Hi, Guys and Galls... 's been awhile...

I got a recent email from Roy saying 'Happy Birthday'... Gawd dang it
if I can fathom how he remembered that day....

Any Hoo, Thankx a million, Roy, for that.... It was a nice
sentiment... ;-)

Why that?

'Cause of this:

Way last year, when Tim's site went the way of the Tax Free Kanadian
Employment Opportunity, I had been on vacation in the Magdelaine
Islands, and it was some time 'till I went back to the site, and found
it dead. I waited to hear from some-a-youse as to what the next move
would be; whether or not there would be an effort made to start a new
group or what not...

I then contacted Amatus to find out what had happened and he told me
there was some activity again back here on the good ol' UseNet SMD,
but that those of a certain ilk who urk unendingly and unerringly
spam uglily would be urged to un-subscribe and/or un-lurk...

This was way back there in 2006, I recon, about the time rotary phones
were being scrapped up here in most Kaaanada-ian igloos.

I came back again tonite to look in on the UseNet SMD more or less by
curiosity and to see if any of the <Usual Suspects> were still here.

It _does_ seem that the SMD is alive and well (which is good), but I
would like to know:

Is there a sinister reason I wasn't contacted when Tim's site
vanished? Would it be because you all feel I was too much of a clown?
too dumb? too un-serious? too unprofessional? Too uninteresting?
too..... Kaannadian????

..... Or did you you just assume I'd had my ugly face ripped off by
some wayward Polar Salamander?

Don't misunderstand: I'm not crying in my Zero-percent-alcohol beer up
here... I can go away and eat nothing but worms and drink nothing but
distilled tigers' breath for the rest of my days if needs be....

.... and I certainly wouldn't be posting with the frequency I was back
in the old days when Sympatico.ca still carried UseNet as part of its
basic service...... (ASSHOLES!!!!! ) Actually, I can still read, but I
can't post...

.... and posting from Google Group-Gropes is the total pits....

So, if anyone has a suggestion as to how to post to and read UseNet
SMD via the (Shitpatico-served) Web with relative ease, I wouldn't
mind coming back here, in a limited way, kind-a like a criminal's
gradual re-insertion into society.

That is, of course, as long as there is not an anti-StovePipe
sentiment running dark and deep under the posts from all-a youse....
