crown core and post

A few months ago my dentist tried to remove my crown to investigate what she
thought was some decay at the base of the tooth. She was unable to get to
the "root " of the problem because she could not remove the crown. Would she
have been able to identify the fact that my crown had been bonded to a co-
joined core and post structure?
