- Pain in what appears to be two teeth next to each other.
- Most pain when biting down teeth together or eating on that side.
- Face feels swollen.
- Gum is very sore and small lump there.
- Tooth feels 'raised up' (if that makes sense)
Abscess if very likely, based on your description.

problems with crown prep ... Yesterday had back molar prepared for crown and temp put on .Today the ...gum around the tooth is swollen and very sore there is also a large ... ulcer near the tooth also I think this could be because the saliva pad ... (sci.med.dentistry)
