No dental insurance is going to help unless it is part of a group
policy from your employment. Even then, it's only going to pay
one to two thousand per year.

99% chance of a sugar habit between meals (usually soft drinks,
but can be breath mints, cough drops, sweetened tea or coffee,
raisins, pastries, cookies, etc.)

Nothing will last (and new problems will abound) until that has been dealt with.
