New partial Denture woes

I just got my upper partial denture yesterday. It fills two teeth on the right & three on the left
side of my mouth. There are three stainless steel wire loops that wrap around the existing
anchor teeth. It appears to fit fairly well but a little uncomfortable especially with the palate
piece against the roof of my mouth making talking difficult & sometimes make me gag a little
(I have a bad gag reflex anyway). Apart from minor adjustments my dentist can do, what can
I get over the counter at my local pharmacy to ease the "breaking in" & help me adjust my
mouth to accept the new prosthesis.

Any response would be greatly appreciated since I do look a whole lot better than the
jack-o-lantern I used to resemble.
