I've had a burning gum on the top left for about a week and a half. I
have a few apthous uclers currently, but this doen't seem like an
ulcer. My entire gum for the length of about 5 teeth is inflamed,
burns a bit and I feel a movable cyst, somewhat soft, but in the soft
tissue just outside the gum area and its about half the size of a pea.
I went to see my dentist today and he wants me to try some periodex
[sp]? and come back in a week if its still there. I'm not using any
new toothpaste and I don't have periodontal disease according to the
dentist assistant. Any idea what could cause this? They said it looked
"systemic". I don't have any tooth problems to my knowledge and I
brush often.
Seems unlikely we'd be much help if the dentist who saw you doesn't know what it is. I think it is doubtful in the extreme that Peridex will help with the discrete soft-tissue lesion. Any way you could post a photo?
