Thanks, Steve, that's a relief. I'll go in next week and have it
looked at and see what he can do. I didn't know that they can add
material to this. I feel that knowing about the recession, it should
have been left alone for a few weeks. It was taken from the mold and
if the gum goes back to close to what was before, it may have fit
perfectly...that's why I am beating myself up for tampering with it.
Tenthmed, thanks. There is a gap of 1mm (I measured it) in the part
closest to tooth 10. I can't imagine 1/4" of an inch...that would look
horrible. If I had left it alone, he could have adjusted it now. I was
in such a rush but in the meantime, I don't even wear it because it
squeezes my teeth and after 5 minutes, they hurt. I know I asked this
before but again, if I were a singer and HAD to get on stage, isn't
there some other device? The truth is, I DO sing and can't perform
like this now. Tooth 12 is crowned so I was told that they can't bond
anything to that. I heard they don't make nesbits anymore. What about
valplasts? Are people better able to talk with them and do they also
take up so much room on the roof of your mouth? I cannot talk with
this thing, I sound ridiculous and I'm upset because it cost $650
which I can ill afford. I'd rather just tell people the truth but if I
could get something better, I'd pay again.

I'm afraid I screwed up badly. I have a flipper for tooth 11 which I
haven't been wearing because it's still healing. When I got it and
went for my checkup with the oral surgeon, he saw that it was very
high on the gum and shaved it down. It looked great and met the
gumline perfectly. My gum has since receded and now there is a space
between the top of the tooth and my gum. It will be another 7 months
or so before I have the implanted tooth actually in. Now what do I do?
My general dentist might be annoyed that I had the oral surgeon do
anything to it although he didn't express that...he even further
modified it and polished it. I do know that the lab guarantees it for
a year (I called them) but if they know it was modified, will they
still redo it? Or blame all of us? Also, if the lab won't, can the
dentist add bonding to a flipper tooth?
Normal healing. The lab man can only estimate God's (mother nature, or
who/whatever) final healing. In my experience there is always a gap of
1mm to 1/4 inchg. All is normal.
