There is a product that I think is called cold cap that can help women
taking chemo to keep their hair. It's a bit like an ice pack that is put on
the head while the chemo is being administered. I think the idea is to
constrict blood vessels in the scalp to minimise the amount of drugs
reaching the hair roots.
It's very uncomfortable for the first few minutes and it doesn't work for
everybody but it might be worth asking your doctor about it.
