No, I haven't fred.

Well, at first you might need a peg tube (I'm not sure). It can either go down the
throat which sounds mighty uncomfortable or inserted as shown
here.http://www.oralcancerfoundation.org/dental/tube_feeding.htm and they would
inform you of the recommended formula, until you can again eat solids. And
maintenance/care of the peg tube, if applicable.

There's tips here http://www.eccafe.org/cnt/index.html about eating and nutrition.

If you're going to be on chemo, if the chemo is platinum based, eat with plastic
utensils, dishes and/or disposable plates and don't cook with metal cook pots. Can
worsen "metal mouth" taste.

There may be more tips for you here http://www.cancersupporters.com/asc/part2.html

Review your health insurance plan and talk to your insurance provider (know what
your health care plan does and does not cover and understand the processes for
getting referrals and reimbursements)

I would ask Steph some questions. There's a diagram here of the mouth and throat
<http://www.cancerbacup.org.uk/Cancertype/Headneck/Typesofheadneckcancers/Cancerofthenasopharynx>

So I would want to know if the radiation therapy is done externally or if I would
have to hold my mouth open wide for more than a few minutes because I have jaw
joint problems. If the answer was yes, I'd be massaging my jaw joint muscles a lot
in the days preceding (and after) each treatment. I would also want to know what
happens to the saliva during treatment..such as ; are we lying down during the
treatment and is there a suction device to suction out the saliva, or do we just
swallow it during the treatment.
Whether there's a first "setup" appointment and how long that is.
How long each treatmet usually is.
Questions like that.

Sounds like you're doing the right things.

Steph and Peter Moran are doctors. So be good to them. :-)

I'll reply separately about something.
