I had the CyberKnife RT at Stanford for Brain Mets from SCLC. I'd already
maxed out on brain radiation (Whole brain Radiation) here in Monterey
When the tech fitted the mask he pulled the nose up and created a point.
He said it was to give more comfortable breathing. Near the end of the
treatment the mask began to rub a spot on my nose. About the time I was
ready to cut the session off, it was over, but If I ever have to go back,
I'm taking a bandaid to pad my nose.

states:
"There are 3 types of NPC: keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma (type 1);
nonkeratinizing carcinoma (type 2) and undifferentiated carcinoma (type 3).
Some studies have found that the keratinizing subtype is more aggressive.
However, the treatment is usually the same for all types. How far the NPC
has spread locally and throughout the body (stage) is often more important
than its type in predicting the outlook for chances of survival
(prognosis)."

Since yours doesn't seem to have spread yet sounds like you may have a good
chance at beating the beast.

Watch for a post from J. She does a hellofa good job of researching cancer
facts and posting links.

What kind of chemo will you be getting?
The radiation treatments may make the wax in your ears dry out. Have them
cleaned before you get zaped.

Don't hesitate to ask questions here, but also ask your Dr. since
everybody's reaction to treatment is different.

Keep us informed as to your progress
