Come now! It would be difficult enough to find one doctor
prepared to give such a definite, utterly hopeless prognosis, let alone
four. What did the doctors *really* say? I'll bet it was loaded with
"maybes" and "possibly(s)".

Nevertheless, I do hope your husband continues to do well, if his case is
genuine.

We would need a lot more information about diagnosis staging and treatment
before knowing whether he is defying expectations.

Even then, the unexpected does often happen in medicine. In a recent study
over 1% of cases of inoperable NSCLC (usually cases survive mere
months) treated with small doses of palliative radiotherapy were still
alive five years later and many of those went on for ten years. This
confirmed very similar findings in an earlier study. There are few
worse prognostic situations in medicine than this.
