Radioisotope injections

My mother was recently dx w/ a diffuse large B-cell lymphoma in her
shoulder. In undergoing prep for a PET scan, the radioisotope was
injected into her arm, rather than her vein, so she will have to repeat
the procedure. She seems fine, but is there any likelihood of problems
from this error?
