Hello J,
Thanks for your reply and the link!
Yes, his cough is productive, coughs some of the fluid out, but not
much. The fluid is clear without a tint.
Best regards,
Dima

Thank you for your posting.
He says that he feels fine. He has been taking Sutent fifth course for
a week already. I said him to make breaks in doses if he feels bad.
Sutent weakened his imune system, so that he catches lung infections
and his lungs inflame. I will see him tomorrow.
size, but his lungs accumulated a fluid. He coughs much more now than a
year ago.
His doctor said that the fluid level is at 6-th rib on right side in
his pleural cavity.
Hello Dima,
I combined your last 3 posts (above)
On one side is shown here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pleural_fluid (so I
don't know that one side is meaningful or worrisome, or not).
Healthy individuals have less than 1 ml of fluid in each pleural space.
Normally, fluid enters the pleural space from the capillaries in the parietal
pleura, from interstitial spaces of the lung via the visceral pleura, or from
the peritoneal cavity through small holes in the diaphragm. This fluid is
normally removed by lymphatics in the parietal pleura, which have the capacity
to absorb 20 times more fluid than is normally formed. When this capacity is
overwhelmed, either through excess formation or decreased lymphatic
absorption, a pleural effusion develops.<end quote>
It seems to say that the lymph system removes fluids.
So maybe you're right about the immune system and taking a break.
Is the cough productive ? (ie coughs some of the fluid out?)
Thank you for update, Dima. You know I'm not a doctor so can't give advice.
It's too complicated for me.
Keep in touch okay?
J
